CPR Health Care Provider with First Aid Course

According to the World Health Organization, cardiovascular diseases are the most common cause of death worldwide, accounting for about one-third of deaths. As our population ages, the prevalence of these diseases is expected to increase. This program will help prepare participants to handle these events and other related life-threatening incidents.

The primary focus of the CPR Health-Care Provider with First Aid (CPR:HCP) course is to develop cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills at the healthcare provider (HCP) level. This includes one- and two-person CPR for adults, children, and infants. Also included is locating a pulse or determining that one does not exist, which is an additional skill that sets apart the HCP level of care from entry-level CPR courses. During this course, participants will become familiar with the signs and symptoms associated with cardiovascular diseases, such as heart attack and respiratory arrest.

Because individuals taking this course may need a review of rudimentary first-aid skills that may assist with preventing life-threatening conditions, this program covers essential skills such as management of choking and shock, control of external bleeding, bandaging and splinting. Who this course is for:

• Anyone who has already learned Basic Life Support, CPR and First Aid Skills and wants to upgrade or refresh their skills at a more advanced level.
• Anyone looking to take Rescue or Professional-level dive training, does not have current CPR certification and has prior CPR and First Aid experience.

• - This course teaches you how to recognize when to and how to administer Emergency Oxygen to scuba diving victims.
• - This course builds on the First Aid skills learned in the Basic Life Support course and focuses on treating many of the kinds of hazardous marine life that we can encounter when diving.
• - This course helps you learn how to recognize key signs and evaluate an individual with a suspected neurological injury.

• - If you want to learn Basic Life Support and First aid and/or this is your first time going through this kind of course, the Basic Life Support class will be better suited to you.
• - This course incorporates all of the Basic Life Support course and also covers Emergency Oxygen, First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries and performing Neurological Assessments. It's a great package course with a TON of information.
• (DFA-Pro) - This course is focused on individuals who need to be familiar with Diving First Aid as part of their job and/or may be subject to OSHA oversight. The course covers all of the same things as the DEMP program listed above but focuses on the professional setting.
